About LSI

What's Living? - In vitro blood vessels live for a considerable time - the varicosities and smooth muscle and endothelial cells have a propensity to survive. Professor Emeritus Bill Halpern also has these attributes. In 1990 when he chose to retire from the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Vermont, he founded LSI, another living entity. In this way, he maintains an active interest in cardiovascular research, which had occupied his interests for many years. Bill had developed a number of unique research tools during his research career, and now these, and subsequently additional instruments, are available for numerous investigators to pursue their studies

Of course, there are others who live and make this possible.

Geoff (a.k.a. Rosalie) Osol applies her considerable experimental blood vessel laboratory familiarity to daily details, customer inquiries and solving instrument application problems. Furthermore, she would be happy to address your dressage interests.

George Coy uses his phenomenal engineering experience and talent to design our electronic instruments and get them to work with high reliability. He can also sell you an airplane for sport or business, and provide flying lessons.

Josef Roubal assembles and tests our products, and is the model positive life style individual. Don't even think about challenging him to a Judo match; he's a topmost expert

We also cannot do without Guy Kennedy, Doug Gomez, Carl Silver and Mike Fortney of the very well equipped Instrument and Model Facility of The University of Vermont. They use their mechanical and electronic skills, bar none, to manufacture our vessel chambers to precise dimensions, and to build other specialized components. Consider them for your special jobs.
